Set of 3 sponges- one purple, one gray, one pink

Made from 100% natural vegetable fiber, Konnyaku (or Amorphophallus Konjac) has been used for over 1,500 years in Asia as an eco-friendly beauty treatment for sensitive skin.

The Konjac potato or Konnyaku is a perennial plant native to Asia and can be found growing wild at very high altitudes. A totally natural food source, Konjac is 97% water, rich in mineral goodness and low in calories. The plant is naturally alkaline, which leaves skin perfectly balanced.

Konjac sponges gently increase blood flow to the skin when you use them.  They gently buff away imperfections and dry skin without being "scratchy".

Our sponges come packed 100% dry- you must re-hydrate them before use.
Re-hydrating is simple- just take it into the bath or shower with you and get it wet.  When you can squeeze it gently and it's soft to the touch, it's ready for use.  Just add a little of your favorite cleanser and go!  Squeeze repeatedly to lather, and scrub and buff until your heart's content!

When you're finished with it, squeeze out the excess water and set it aside or hang to dry.  It will shrivel a bit when it's dry.  Just soak it again when you're ready to use it.  Allowing the sponge to dry out prevents bacterial growth or rot.

You will want to replace your sponge around once a month.  You'll know when it is time because Konjac- being completely natural, will break down with use.  Your sponge will begin to shrink and not bounce back as well as it did when it was new. Konjac is wonderful this way because it tells you when to get a new one naturally.  An old sponge can be a breeding ground for nasties- konjac helps prevent that.

Why do we send our sponges dry?
Many companies ship their konjac with something "in it" that makes it wet and ready to use when you open the package.  We don't like this idea because wetness means there are preservatives inside.  Where there's wet, there's bacteria.  We'd prefer sending them to our happy customers without any preservative- OR wetness.

How do they arrive?
Our sponges are reasonably priced because we don't waste money on crazy packaging.  Our sponges are packed in a clear bag or shrink wrapped for protection.
